"Our heart project brought to life. When the Easter attacks happened there were many responses and as someone who had lost my grandpa quite recently my heart went out to the many children who had to process loss. From my experience of walking my children through my grandfathers departure I wrote the first draft of “when bad things happen” and sent it to Shari De Costa who perfected it and partnered with me to see the book come to life. Royden Gibbs my art teachers with equal want to aid children came on board and in a very short span of time gave us the images for the book. We had a vision for a board book and PRashanthan and Chamindri Wijemanne joined us to see the vision through and we are proud that this is the very FIRST board book produced locally in all three languages. Thank you to your translators Arun, Sharlini Rodrigo , Kumar , Sachee, Kanchana Weheragoda, Preethi Fernando and Aunty Dili and a BIG thank you to Nirmali Dias for coming in and writing the note to the parents from the counselors perspective. Maneesha Benedict thank you for never saying no even when asked to do something last minute I appreciate you and your creative skills very much!! Thank you for all those who have assisted us financially to bring this book to life. This is a small step but it also gave birth to Kiribath Publishes a children’s publishing company which we are very excited about.
